We live a pretty awesome life when it comes to how busy we are day to day and throughout the week. We both work full time, but my schedule is a more typical 8 to 5 whereas Kandace’s schedule changes day to day.
So with my easy life schedule I do most of the cooking. Sometimes we plan the meals together at the beginning of the week, but too often I spend my time after work looking at recipes and going to Safeway for ingredients.
So Tuesday I finished my bike ride home from work and as I rode the elevator up to the apartment, I thought, “I really don’t want anything to do with thinking/planning/deciding/buying/preparing dinner.” The feeling grew as I approached the apartment door. Then to make it worse when I walked in the apartment I could smell my neighbor’s dinner. It smelled delicious! Sadly it didn’t inspire me, it just bummed me out I had to start the whole dinner process!
Now the good news! I wasn’t smelling the neighbor’s dinner, it was our dinner! Kandace made an crock pot Indian chili before heading to work!

So I cracked a beer, worked on a little homework, watched some TV and added too much coconut milk because I don’t know how to follow simple directions. At least I added it at the right time…
I am so grateful I get to share my life with Kandace. I know at some point our life will be more complicated than just us and a few cats. When that happens I know we will work as a team, helping out when the other person just doesn’t have it in them.
